Today I planted my sunflowers. I got my dad to drill holes in the bottom of ten buckets and I filled them with soil. I planted the seeds and put the buckets around the water tanks in the full sun. Im excited to see how tall they grow.  My seedlings are growing so fast. Unfortunately my tomato seeds I planted didn’t germinate.  I bought the same kind of seeds at the warehouse and planted them again.  Lets hope they catch up to my other plants.  They are moneymaker tomatoes.

Today I had a busy day in the garden. I weeded my school garden and added some blood and bone to the soil.  I filled buckets and put them along the fence to grow my beans in. I also helped mum and dad make our new vegetable garden. We had to move all of the bark and lift up the weed mat. We turned the soil and added blood and bone. I also planted the silverbeat out of my school garden, into the new vegetable garden.  I plan to grow herbs in my school garden this year.

I planted my strawberry plants today. They are in a sunny spot in a big drum. I used special soil for strawberry plants.  I also put lots of compost in.

Today I sewed all of my seeds. I used special seed raising mix to help them grow big and strong.

I planted beans, lettace, leaks, zucchinis, gherkins and tomatoes.  The tomato seeds were saved from my last years garden and my bean seeds were from my uncle shanes garden.

I am excited to see my seeds sprout.  I put glass and plastic on the top of my pots to make a mini glass house.   This will keep the frost and cold away. Continue reading 24/09/2014 →
